NEVADA CITY MAN INDICTED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
SACRAMENTO--United States Attorney McGregor W. Scott announced today that DAVID JOHN CARLI, 66, of Nevada City, California, was arrested for possession of child pornography. A federal grand jury returned a three-count indictment yesterday alleging that on September 27, 2002, and November 2, 2004, CARLI knowingly possessed images depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. In a third count, the government seeks the forfeiture of the computers CARLI used to maintain his child pornography collection.
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Nevada City Police
Department, and the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office.
According to Assistant United States Attorney Matthew Stegman, who is prosecuting the
case, if convicted of the charge, CARLI faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
