SAN FERNANDO – A Canyon Country man on probation for two separate misdemeanor DUI cases was charged today with murder, gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, felony hit-and-run and other charges.
Marco Antonio Valencia, 20 (dob 8-15-88), is scheduled to be arraigned this afternoon at San Fernando Superior Court, Department S. In addition to one count of murder, he is charged in case PA 065011 with multiple counts of DUI causing injury with prior convictions, and misdemeanor driving while license suspended or revoked for prior DUI conviction.
Valencia allegedly was driving his pickup on Bouquet Canyon Road about 11 a.m. Saturday when he struck four cyclists, killing Joseph Novotny.
