HUSBAND AND WIFE PLEAD GUILTY TO LARGE-SCALE MARIJUANA CONSPIRACY
CHARGES INVOLVING MARIJUANA GROW HOUSES IN NAPA COUNTY, FAIRFIELD,
AND ELK GROVE

SACRAMENTO—United States Attorney McGregor W. Scott announced today that defendants DAREN WALLACE GLOSSER, 33, and his wife, SHANNON LEA SELLE, 30, both formerly of Napa County, pleaded guilty on February 14, 2008, before United States District Judge Garland E. Burrell, Jr., to conspiracy to manufacture at least 1,000 marijuana plants and distribute marijuana. As part of their pleas, GLOSSER and SELLE agreed to forfeit four homes owned by GLOSSER located at 3264 Wailea Circle, 2749 Wailea Circle, 3447 Springfield Drive, and 3418 Moss Valley Drive, all in Fairfield, California, to the United States. Both defendants also agreed to forfeit a Chevrolet Tahoe SUV, and over $8,000 cash to the United States.

This case is the result of an extensive investigation by the Fairfield Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the California Department of Justice, the Vallejo Police Department, the Napa County Sheriff’s Department, the Benicia Police Department, and the California Highway Patrol.

The defendants used at least ten properties, including six rental properties, to manufacture marijuana indoors. The investigation discovered one property in Napa County; four properties in the City of Fairfield; and five properties in the City of Elk Grove, all used to grow marijuana at various times during the conspiracy. During the charged conspiracy, which lasted from at least October 2001 to July 7, 2005, GLOSSER and SELLE grew, processed, and sold marijuana from thousands of marijuana plants. The defendants’ criminal activities did not go unnoticed as law enforcement investigators received substantial assistance from law-abiding citizens, who reported their observations of suspicious activity in their neighborhoods.

GLOSSER faces a minimum mandatory ten years imprisonment, five years to life supervised release, and/or a maximum $4,000,000 fine. Upon entering his guilty plea, Judge Burrell remanded GLOSSER into custody immediately. Under her plea agreement, SELLE has an opportunity to earn a reduced sentence if she meets certain conditions. Judge Burrell allowed SELLE to remain on bail until her sentence is imposed.

The defendants will next appear for judgment and sentencing before Judge Burrell on May 2, 2008.
