Rapper “The Game” Pleads No Contest
LOS ANGELES – The rap artist known as “The Game” pleaded no contest today to possession of a firearm in a school zone in connection with a 2007 pickup basketball game.
Deputy District Attorney Tien Pham of Central Trials said Jaceyon Terrell Taylor, 28, received three years formal probation, 60 days county jail (with two days credit) and 150 hours of community service. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Fred Wapner imposed the sentence.
Taylor, who is scheduled to surrender in the next week, faced three felony counts for making criminal threats and exhibiting a firearm in the presence of a peace officer. Two counts were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
In February 2007, Taylor allegedly got into an altercation with a player on an opposing team during a basketball game at the Rita Walters Educational Learning Complex in South Los Angeles. After punching the victim, Taylor allegedly pulled a gun from his Escalade and threatened to shoot the victim.
